Hey DGC,
So I was passing through Tennessee on a road trip and I saw they had THCA weed available at the vape shops. When I looked at the bottle it said THCA on the bottle with out any % and also said contains less than 0.03% THC delta 9. So I looked into it a bit and it says that THCA turns into delta9 when put under extreme heat or light. So my sister and I were arguing that the THCA weed is or isn’t just regular weed. So because of how the law was written they can sell the weed legally because weed/that weed doesn’t contain delta9 until its lit and everything in the plant is THCA until then. I asked if there is no difference and they are all the same how can they test weed to have a THC% but in Tn they’re able to test the “same” weed to be less than 0.03%?? So my question is 1) is THCA and delta9 weed the same and if they’re not whats the difference? If all cannabis makes THCA then could they breed the plants to actually have 0.03% THC and just have THCA in the flower? If that’s the case would delta9 weed have THC and the THCA in it that converts to THC as well? and then the THCA weed just converts the THCA but still have no THC to begin with before lit? All I know is I was out of weed and had hours and hours to drive so i got an 1/8. It looked pretty good smelled decent. I had kiefy fingers after rolling up a hooter but it didn’t get my buddy and I that high after a whole joint. It didn’t feel like regular weed to me. So if you guys could shed some light on the situation that would be awesome.

Why people are eating raw weed buds for the health benefits
It sounds like a legal work around to me. Due to the law regulating THC delta 9, and not delta 8 or THCA, there’s no clear regulation. Kinda like what happened with K2 products in thw past; they had a similar chemical, but since it’s not the same chemical there’s no law against it. This means that shops can sell it, without proper regulations enforcement is in a grey area.
Most cannabis will have slight amounts of THC delta 9, but the majority will be THCA. With a bit of heat all that THCA will become active THC delta 9. The quality of that weed could be the cause of a lacking effect, or it could be the mental block of knowing it’s different. Either way it was good ol’ weed, just being labled in a different way to go around regulations.
