Hey Guys and Gals!
I just finished my morning coffee, so it’s time to make the girls their morning tea! I was thinking about it, and wanted to pop in and ask the crew what they use as an aeration method when they make tea? Does anyone use a Microbulator, Vortex brewer, Venturi water pump or the “waterfall method”? I’m considering a purpose made brewer as my next project hehe so c’mon, Fam-Bam! Help me out with some ideas and inspiration! Growers Love, yall!
PS Dude and Scotty, you both look very pretty with your new lighting! Wait, Dude got new lighting too, right? Or did Scotty just get a new camera. Did I get new lighting? Damn my memory…Fuck it, your both still pretty!
I just use a good aquarium stone. But I’m interested in upping my game also. Will be curious to hear some ideas from the Crew.
I use a home made “mini-microbulator” based on Tim Wilson’s design. (http://www.microbeorganics.com/)
They are pretty easy to build yourself or I think both build a soil and KIS organics sell mini-microbulator kits with Tims blessing.

Very easy to build. You can get everything you need at the hardware store except the pump, which is easy to find online.
Here’s mine. https://www.dudegrows.com/tea-brewer/ Very simple simon to make & it is cheap to boot.
I’ll do a video on it later this spring
Great info! I like your rules Elmo. So glad to have this resource of information.

Dang. Soup beat me to it. I also made my own mini microbulator based on Tim Wilson’s designs. If you are talking about AACTs, Tim Wilson is the go to guy for unbiased knowledge, in my insanely biased opinion.
I’ve considered using the Mini-Microbulator but maybe I’ll do that when it’s a bit nicer and I can brew it outside. I’ve got one or two top-secret super-classified ideas for a brewer, but you’ll all just have to wait and see on those haha even though it’s probably been done before, it may be something! that is if I can get some spare time, etc. to figure it out.
+1 on the mini microbulator. I made two for my personal gows, one for my tea’s 30 gallon and one for my canna reservoir 20 gallon, Keeps everything mixed up and mixes nutrients for you I don’t use the paint mixer on the drill anymore. They are pretty loud though, I built mine using 1 pipe and and can hear it through two closed doors. When I get the time I’m going to try a 1/2″ and 3/4″ version to see if it helps with the noise. Working on something inexpensive to keep 2 80 gallon reservoirs mixed and airrierated even when they get low.
I make 1 gallon batches using a $15 air pump & stone and a small bucket or beverage container. I don’t know if it’s working very well, because I don’t have a microscope, unfortunately.
That microbulator is pretty awesome looking, thank you for sharing Soup! I plan on buying a big trash can and some PVC to make my own and use it to brew up some compost or worm casting teas for the veggie garden, if I get good results then and only then, will the lovey ladies get to taste some for themselves!
Just build my own 5gallon mini microbulator! Can’t wait to start brewing some goods
