Hi everyone, a family member told me about you today and said I’ll get the best answers here.
I’m on my third grow and started with the General Organics GoBox. I ended up buying the whole line in a gallon so I guess I’m not trying anything new for several grows lol!
My plants aren’t on the same watering schedule so I want to mix up 3 gallons and either put a submergible pump in the bucket or use a small electric motor with a mixer attached so the nutrient water is always moving. Will this work ok? I would be using the 3 gallons in 3-4 days. I added a picture of the nutrients I use. Thanks in advance!
I had done the same.in the past when I was working in the normal world
… make sure you check your ph frequently as you can experience some drift. I grow drain to waste in coco and once really underway in veg use auto waters with a 20 gallon resevoir.
If you are new here let.me welcome you and encourage you to join and almost as important for your ladies, grab some Real Growers recharge out of the outlet it will improve your grow noticeably. Growers love from AZ👊
Thanks for the reply. The family member I referenced said he has an “abundant” amount of recharge and is going to bring me some. I’m looking forward to trying it.
So, the nutrients I use says not to ph. I researched it and the camg+ bottle is there to raise the ph since the other bottles are acidic. I will monitor the ph though, thanks for the help!
Plastic bag, the bucket, and a pair of nice quality airstones is perfect and itll save you some$$ and less maintenance work in the end
I am worried the air stones would get clogged and need replacing. What’s the plastic bag for?
The bag is just an easy cover to work with plus thers this thing where is covered but not fully covered i really like. The clog!! Lol i never had any clogging before because when i use my premix i throw them into clean water or you can use hydrogen peroxide mix with water in a 1gal or you could go moreless all you want is your airstones submerged in that cleaness Its almost a very similar process in cleaning a bong with percs in it Also youll have nice temp water with all those bubbles youre making *cough plus the bubbles gots co2 and youre using organics and you gonna add recharge!! Bro you can achieve some huge results
Not sure about your environment but that little pump will warm you reservoir a little, maybe running on a timer might help unless your in the chilly north. The calmag is a calcium carbonate base that reaches a saturation ph of 8 ish. Microbes are really crucial to help buffer root zone ph. As the AzKushman said keep checking the ph. But how it works is the carbonate is bound as a crystal type structure when introduced to the acid it releases and dissolves it into the water. The ph will maintain that high 7-8 ph til there is enough acid to dissolve all the carbonate crystal structure. Now as the plant, nutrients, air and microbes create acids in the water it will fall back down to a good level then keep falling to a calcium lockout level. In my experience browning roots considerably once under 5.5ph. Also bad microbes thrive in that lower ph environment. Just know if you put enough calmag it will raise ph pretty good. Naturally falling back down but depending on the amount used and acids in the water it could take a while. But the root zone should be maintained by the microbes and plant exudates.
I read that 3 times trying make sense of it, but I am lost lol! What I’m getting out of this conversation is that pre-mixing the nutrients is doable, but I should watch for ph drift and water temperature before I use it on my plants. I think I’ll go the mixer route so I can just mount that to the bucket lid and keep the water turning. Thanks science guy!
Thanx bro,Coolin, you laid it out perfect again …the times I didnt check my reservoirs ph…not always did it get me,just once lost a whole run.
Thank you everyone for the advice.
Yea just wanted to let you know what was happening in the water. Basically ph will seem high then one day bottom out for no apparent reason but all the carbonate has dissolved.
I always pre mix a weeks worth using a 60 gallon flexi tank and a 400gph sub pump circulating it and i monitor/ adjst ph. However i believe these specific nutes you are using say to use within the hour of mixing. I would make sure these semi organic bottles are okay to premix i know the general.hydroponics flora series are but I believe general organics are not
