Hello Medical grower here from Canada. I’ve heard you guys talk about AC infinity recently. I have a couple AC infinities there all right. Not quite as good as the hyper fans. The AC infinity controllers are good but they’re not set up for cannabis growing. They’re set up for cabinets and in my opinion just don’t work for flower rooms. As they just turn on and off at desired set points at a certain speed not dialed up and dial down. This just doesn’t work as you want a Negative pressure to be kept at all times and bring in CO2.
I use mine for is my drying tents. I turn off all the set points except the high humidity set point. So as soon as the humidity rises above 65% the fans turn on and off again when the humidity air is exhausted. I control the temperatures Where the tent is that located.
I’m trying it in my veg tent I’m not sure if it’s gonna work only using the high temps and humidity. As I’m not vegging them very long and they don’t need very much CO2 and no smell.
I have one and I like it. The controller isn’t perfect, but it definitely gives you a lot more control than a normal fan. There are lots of different ways to setup the controller to use it for different situations too.
You can actually set it up in alarm mode and it will run all the time at the speed you set, and then ramp up to max speed when you cross a temp or humidity set point. This would be the way to set it up if you are concerned about maintaining negative pressure for odor control purposes.
I have mine set in full auto mode which gives me great control over my tent environment, but it does turn the fan completely off sometimes. I find some odor leaks out but I’m not trying to be super stealthy so it hasnt been an issue. If odor control is high priority, you can always set it up to work that way.
You can also just set it to manual mode and then its like a 10 speed fan you can adjust yourself. This alone gives you way more control options than most other fans on the market.
Also as far as the controller goes… I spoke with the people from AC Infinity and they seem really interested in working with the cannabis community to improve their products. I believe the current controller is their second or third version, and they plan to add more features and improvements in the future.
Anyhoo, I agree the controller settings could use some minor improvements, but its pretty damn useful in its current form, and the company seems serious about working with our industry and improving their products further, so they get my stamp of approval. 🙂
Thanks for your reply.
Having used a Vortex S-Line fan, hyper fan and cheapo amazon inline fans I personally have switched to AC Infinity for my cannabis ventilation. My experience has been more inline (fan pun) of what SOUP described.
I love being able to control temp, humidity and air flow with one product. Previously I had to use an inline fan, speed controller, and separate inkbird temperature and humidity device controllers. With my one AC fan I am able to control all of these parameters more efficiently.
I haven’t had any issues in flower like what you described either. One explanation might be that SOUP and I are using living soil to grow our cannabis. It’s possible that the immense about of CO2 being produced by that soil life is better suited to the “start and stop” methods the AC fans employ. I have noticed that when my environment is correct and the fan is not on my CO2 levels can really get up there naturally. Especially after I topdress amendments.
But in conclusion I also recommend them for maximum environmental control. As a tent grower I have found these fans to be the single most useful product in controlling my environment and better adherence to VPD. It also looks incredibly sleek and professional compared to the tangle of wired and devices that it replaced.
