Yo DGC, what up family! I posted back about a month ago about the best LED on the market and now this new LED has been announced , my question is does anyone have any experience with the original Raging Kush by Scynce? I am looking to put this in a 4×4 and I am curious how well the app works for light control , does it have preset options? Anybody have any experience or reviews they would like to share?
Thanks y’all, stay lifted!
Don’t know anything about it, looks cool, but I commented because I had to say “Raging Kush” is a funny name for a light, sounds like it belongs to an RV.
But really, I’m going to check this out, thanks for sharing Johnny5. More Input!
I wish Santa bring me that light so I could review and get back with you.
This company is interesting, I’ve been kinda keeping an eye on them for a while. I’m curious what guru thinks.
They seem like they’d be decent lights but the company seems REALLY focused on marketing and presentation and it sorta makes me suspicious. I tried watching several of their videos and they are all so THICK with marketing nonsense…
They seem to spend a lot of time arguing that the commonly used metrics for measuring lights don’t apply to them. Even if its true, its sorta a weird argument. Between that and the “raging kush” name I kinda have a tough time trusting them.
Kinda wish these companies would back off a bit on all the marketing mumbo jumbo. Give me comparable performance data and a few bullet points about what makes your product different and lets leave it at that.
I love my Raging Kush and just harvested my first from on it. So much better than my 600hps

Some of what I love about it is the lenses, we got the most even grow we have ever got.
The other thing I love is I get to geek out with the spectrum recipes. I ramp my lights up at start of day and ramp lights down at end of day. Maybe just entertaining me but out first grow was quite nice(curing right now)
Started my clones in there this week and plan on adding a fade to red then to black…
Does the application have preset options for the different type of lighting it can do? Also how were your Temps?
The only presets are flowering and veg (never played much with them) but on their website there are recipes you can download and edit to suit your needs with thier phone app.
Temps were somewhat better than my 600watt HPS but the buds came out so much better including 1 plant that had been a clone of the best of our last crop Valley Chem it came out denser, stronger smells and so sparkly.
I agree with your comment that I wish there was more straight to the point information, I’ve found myself searching hashtags to find real people working with this light. YouTube is flooded with what I feel are paid reviews 😕
I have a scynce raging kush led I love it . Used it for two grows I’m very happy with the light. I recommend the light if you have the Budget for it.
I agree with Soup…the lights look cool but I don’t know enough about LEDs to know better. The marketing seems heavy-handed and I’d like to see more grower testimonials and videos with the lights.
I would be very interested to hear your feedback on the Raging Kush though.
Viparspectra has the new XS 4000 for $589 on Amazon right now. It has a great ppfd footprint using the Samsung Lm301b diodes and mean well drivers. 480w at the wall. Just saying, there’s other alternatives out there that don’t break the bank.
Thanks for the reply, I have an old set of viparspectra and have no complaints with growth just the heat that came from them. I’ll have to look into it!
That’s honestly a lot of money for a company that doesn’t mention what diodes or drivers they’re using (from what I tried to find at a quick glance). I would much rather see someone invest LESS money with a reputable company like HLG or ChilLED with awesome customer service. Not to mention you get a discount at HLG with coupon code DUDE.

Solventless BakenVape on youtube runs these in his grow and gets really good results. I have no idea what hardware they use. The version 1’s had major wattage drop offs with the spectrum shifting which didn’t make it all that great but the version 2 has supposedly addressed that.
He has just hung up one of the version 2’s as one of the testers if you want to see it in action.
To add to that heres a link to the live stream where he hangs and PAR tests it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9f084Js-vsQ
First 40 mins are pretty frustrating, a lot of lagging and then issues with the lights app not being updated. Id suggest skipping it.
He gets it sorted after that and gives a good demonstration of the spectrum shifting and how that affects the PAR at different heights.
It looks like a really good light but without knowing what hardware they use there is no way to know how long it would stay that way.
The spectrum shifting is very impressive and I would say it’s the main selling point but I assume that means they are running the diodes at very high intensities, also indicated by the use of lenses. That could lead to pretty rapid deterioration of the diodes if they are not high quality. All speculation though, I don’t even know how this light is priced.
Thanks for the reply, I have reached out to try and get more information but to no avail. I’ll check out his YouTube, but yes I agree its a tough call to pull the trigger when I know very little about how it’s made/ what hardware is in it . The price is $1,255 , I am waiting to buy until I do find out some more info. Its unreal how many LED light choices are out there 🙄
