Hey DGC, back again with more questions and upgrades! So after hearing so much about them, I’ve decided that I’m switching to hempy buckets. I was thinking of building them myself along with a new elevated table made from 2x4s with a flood table on top and i was wondering what’s the best design and how to daisy chain them together and hook it up to a reservoir with a float valve? I saw a design on here from like 2016/17 that was a bucket with cloth wicks in the bottom of the bucket then put inside another bucket with the water and drain hole. Is that way best or should I just make the single bucket version? Is it best to put them in a flood table like i’ve heard or should I just put them on top of individual saucers? I was also wondering how to mix the nutes as i’m using the Rasta Jeff New Millenium/Veg+Bloom mix and it doesn’t call for the same thing every time as it has boosts, so i dunno if i can use NM or if there’s certain nutes or nutes more preferred for Hempy Buckets. Thanks DGC Much Appreciated!

All I remember about hempy buckets was one of the main reasons worked well was because of how the watter gurgled out of the single, relatively small, drain hole. And that supposedly was beneficial for maximizing the air getting sucked back down into the perlight as the watter gurgleds out.
Dumping in a fair amount of watter all at once helped dispace the stale air in the bucket so it could be replaced with new fresh air.
At least how I remember it from overgrow.
I’m not saying your idea isn’t a great one, but it might negate some of the hempy advantages. And might creat some other advantage that hempy lacks.
I’ve used hempy buckets for years and have tried a few ways to set them up to get them to drain but for me the easiest is just to set them in a flood tray.
I built a drain system from my trays to a reservoir that I pump out using a submersible pump only because my wife won’t let me drill a hole through the wall to drain outside😤
As far as nutes I’ve used different ones throughout the years everything from GH to dynagro but now I’m using masterblend and it works well and it’s cheaper and goes a long way. Plus you’re not buying water, you will use a lot of nutes in this method always watering to waste and flushing every so often.
