Hi DGC, I’ve gone through so many fans in my tent. Most of them are clip on plastic fans that spray little plastic pieces everywhere. I can’t find a metal fan that would work in my tent with very little unused space. Do any of you have one that you like? Thanks!

I use plastic fans all around and no pieces flying. Are you sure that’s what you’re seeing?
Here’s a clip fan designed for tent poles:

It’s pricey and not really necessary to have an oscillating fan in a 4×4 tent. It does have its advantages, but I ran four 6″ to 8″ fans pointed different directions in my 4×4. It’s easy to get good airflow and prevent stale spots in a small space. Not to say you are, but don’t overthink it.
Thanks. I’ll check out those fans. I’m pretty sure it’s plastic because I can see the tiny shreds hanging on to the fan it’s and when I foliar the pieces fall of.
I’ve got several of the oscillating ‘monkey fans’ from Secret Jardin, very similar to the one in the amazon link from Coach Steve. They clip onto the poles and have worked well so far. Some of them make some noise from time to time. It’s kind of one of those things where ‘they don’t make ’em like they used to.’ You might be able to find a higher quality tower style oscillating fan and you can hang it from the ceiling instead of stand it on the floor. Good luck.

I have a few of the vivosun tent fans and absolutly love them 1 will do a 4×4 but I’d reccomend 2. What I have also done in the past (Warning this post contains a grow hack!)
Is taken a regular wall mount fan and secured it to small piece ply wood like say 12×16 and drilled 2 holes in top and used rope ratchets in those 2 holes so I could move the larger fan up and down. Way easier and this way u u can practically mount it anywhere move it from pole to pole or up and down a tip tho is to make sure u use a large enough piece of plywood or weight the bottom of it so fan doesn’t try to twist or drill 2 more holes in bottom of the wood and run another set of rope ratchets to bottom bar of tent.
I use an oscillating tower fan and found that does the trick in my 4×4 tent. I don’t like the clip-on fans in tent, either.
I was thinking this is what I’ll do. I have one in my living room that is super reliable.
